Create Paystubs for Hourly Employees
Build an hourly employee statement from the hours actually recorded for the workweek, the approved rate of pay, applicable overtime, and verified payroll deductions—not from estimates or reconstructed income.
Begin with the time record
Confirm the pay period and the hours recorded for each workweek before entering totals. The statement should follow the employer’s underlying timekeeping and payroll records, including any corrections approved before payroll closes.
Enter the regular hourly rate and total regular hours, then add overtime earnings only after confirming the applicable regular-rate calculation and overtime rule. PayRecordly provides a document workflow; it does not determine worker coverage or legal exemptions.
- Match the pay period to the employer’s timekeeping period
- Separate regular earnings from overtime or bonuses
- Confirm additions and deductions against authorized records
Check the math in context
Gross pay should reconcile to the wage and hour records for the period. Each deduction should have a clear basis, and net pay should equal gross earnings minus the itemized deductions shown on the statement.
Year-to-date amounts require the earlier payroll history for the same calendar year. Do not invent opening balances when earlier checks were processed elsewhere; retrieve the prior register or leave the workflow until the figures can be verified.
Preview first, then finish
Use the protected preview to read names, dates, hours, rates, tax labels, current totals, and year-to-date totals. The finished hourly paystub costs $5.99, and the purchase should happen only after the employer confirms the preview against source records.
Correct an error at its source as well as on the statement. A visually clean paystub is not a substitute for an accurate time record or payroll register.
